Cadmium is dissolved in nitric acid and NO evolves. How much nitric acid is needed to produce 1 mole of NO?

Hello Borek:

Use this:  3Cd + 8HNO3 ? 3Cd(NO3)2 + 2 NO + 4 H2O

(Is real question from you? or is question for High Schools Students...)

Regards,

Chiralic

3/2Cd + 4HNO3 ? 3/2Cd(NO3)2 +  NO +  2H2O

4 moles of HNO3 are required i.e 124g.
Why are you asking this?

(by the way the topic reads 'hitric acid')
