Advice on disposing ferric chloride contaminated water
« on: July 24, 2021, 10:31:22 AM »
Firstly I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask this kind of question but it seems the most suitable. I was etching some steel using ferric chloride and I used some water in a bucket to clean it off. I was just wondering how i should dispose of the water. I read using something like baking powder will neutralise it so I mixed some in till it stopped fizzling and it seemed to form some clumps in the liquid. Not exactly sure were to go from here, thanks in advance for any advice

Let the water evaporate, scrape off the residue and hand it over to the respective institution.
