Cyanuric acid
« on: January 09, 2022, 12:34:06 PM »
I have about 30 lbs of Cyanuric acid left after doing pool chlorine stabilization. Is there anything fun and useful in "home chemistry" that i can do with it? Wikipedia article for Cyanuric acid only lists chlorine stabilization as application for it... and i am done with that.

Maybe try making potassium cyanide for gold extraction projects? All you really need is potassium hydroxide, cyanuric acid and activated charcoal. Since I don't want to write an entire essay, I'll just give you a reference link:

Not sure if cyanides are on the list of regulated substances, but they are definitely toxic enough to be worth of being listed by FDA or OSHA (or some other agency).

I am crazy, but not crazy enough to make/keep KCN at home...
