Need help with reaction mechanism containing LiCl

Hi

I'm currently working on a project in which we need to follow this reaction mechanism (look at attached files)
 It's basically the reaction from 2 esters to a alkane (but alcohol doesnt reactie)

2 Esters + LiCl and HCl react to alkane.

I've been trying myself, but i can not find the correct mechanism which involves the leaving of both esters.

Hope you guys can help me!

cant the water hydrolize the esters? but not sure about decarboxylation tho since it's not conjugated with another carbonyl, but it still could happen, kinda reminds me of thc decarboxylation.

Looks like a Krapcho decarboxylation to me: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krapcho_decarboxylation

That innocent looking chloride isnt so innocent...
