Seeking Advice for Pollution Mask Chemical Absorbers
Hello fellow chemists and enthusiasts,
I am currently working on designing a pollution mask, and I need recommendations for chemical substances that can effectively absorb SO2 (sulfur dioxide) and CO (carbon monoxide). These gases are common pollutants found in vehicle emissions and industrial processes.
SO2 Absorber:
I’m interested in green and efficient solutions. Are there any specific ionic liquids (ILs) or other compounds known for their high binding affinity to SO2?
I’ve read about triethanolamine citrate ([TEOA][CA]), which contains O and N electron-rich sites. Does anyone have experience using this or similar compounds for SO2 absorption?
CO Absorber:
What are the best options for CO absorption? Are there any specific sorbents or chemical reactions that work effectively?
I’m open to both reversible and recyclable absorbents.
Any insights, research papers, or practical experiences related to these chemical absorbers would be greatly appreciated. Let’s collaborate and create a more breathable environment!
