Which of the following ionic solids is the most soluble?

LiF, SrF2, or BeF2

I have no idea where to start or which rules need to be used. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Really, instead of guessing it is best to just consult solubility tables. Rules of thumb are good for comparing similar compounds or when everything else is not changing, but they often fail when the compounds in question are too different. That's the the case here IMHO.

It's quite a difficult question. It is not easy to ask. There are two things to look at here. heats of hydration and lattice energies. When these comparisons are made, it is seen that the most soluble is BeF2, then LiF, and the least soluble is SrF2.
