Extraction of Potassium from Potassium Iodide

So ive extracted the iodine from my potassium iodide but im not too sure how to extract to potassium from my solution. Any ideas?

Not easy, can use precipitation reaction. Refer to potassium salts solubility. Also can use ion exchanger.

What do you mean by "potassium" - just metal? Won't be easy, it is highly reactive.

Oxidizing iodine and collecting it in elemental form is a breeze in comparison.

You could try electrolysis of the molten salt. Melting point of KI is 630 C so not too extreme but not an easy experiment to pull off. I’ve done this in the lab with lead bromide but never tried it to get potassium. Good luck.

The OP never said how they extracted the Iodine from KI.
