Problem with Moles

How many atoms are in 2.5 moles of oxygen gas?
I got 1.5 * 10^24 as my answer, but the answer key got 3.0 * 10^24.
Also, I thought that oxygen gas took molecules? Is this because oxygen is diatomic?
Thank you!

Yes, oxygen is diatomic - so what you calculated is number of molecules, not number of atoms.
One mole of oxygen means "one mole of O
2
".
