We were after the 6890, when we bought a new gc. But agilent wanted to get rid of the last of their 5890s. So we got a couple of last 5890 series III+ . One went to a new 5972 quad detector. The other had a couple of detectors, both FID and TCD. And the computers to run them were shared with the agilent HPLC. The QA dept wanted some backup, so we had to have an ri detector for the hplc, as well as the DAD. Well, there many other issues. But with all this stuff , a network was essential. Not that we tied it into the company network. Anyway, are you talking about a mass spec, or just a regular chromatogram?
