How should the structure of an enolate ion be drawn? I'm asking about the actual bonding of the atoms, not the electron configuration or resonance structures. I know that the central atom will be carbon and am guessing that one of the carbons will have two hydrogens bonded to it, but I am not sure how the other atoms will be attached. Is there a rule for this? Can you direct me to a website or something showing how to do this? I can do more basic structures, but it seems that this one is a bit over my head.
Thank you in advance!
