Hi there,
Can somebody show me the mechanism of p-nitro acetanilide forming p-nitro aniline by adding HCL + water and NH
3
(ammonia, base)? It should be a hydrolysis reaction rite? please help.. thanks!

acid: H+ goes to the nitrogen, water to the carbonyl C -> split
base: OH- attacks the carbonyl C, H+ of water goes to the nitrogen -> split
