Chemical structure drawer
« on: December 05, 2006, 11:00:21 AM »
Why not design a draw-program for organic structures on this site?
A very simple one, with templates.
No single thing abides, but all things flow.
Fragment to fragment clings, and thus they grow
Until we know and name them.
Then by degrees they change and are no more
The things we know.

it would be easy to generate 2D representations of chemical compounds
"Say you're in a [chemical] plant and there's a snake on the floor. What are you going to do? Call a consultant? Get a meeting together to talk about which color is the snake? Employees should do one thing: walk over there and you step on the friggin snake." - Jean-Pierre Garnier, CEO of Glaxosmithkline, June 2006

The links section has free drawing software. You would just need to save the file as a .bmp or .jpg and upload it to your post. This way it's easier for me. :)
Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
3. Forum Supports LaTex
