That's a lot. I don't know what they are here, but I'm sure it's under $11.62 USD (your $15 AUD) per kilo. Although these are really rough calculations, it shows it's much cheaper

$15 per kilo AUD is something like $5.28 per lb USD or $6.82 per lb AUD. I believe bananas were going at about $4 a lb USD, so it's cheaper to buy a banana in here in the Northeast of the U.S. than in Australia.. Good 'ol America. The only place using the imperial system.

I can't say I've noticed a change in the price of bananas (partly because we haven't bought bananas in a while, partly because I don't do the grocery shopping in the house)

I think I heard once a while ago about a some sort of mould or blight that seems to have outbroken on the more popular varieties of bananas  :-\

The price of bananas here skyrocketed not long again after vast quantities of banana crops were destroyed by bad weather. The government decided that we couldn't import bananas but instead pay a premium for them in order to sustain the farmers. I have heard that some lucky farmers whos crops were not destroyed for whatever reason have become overnight millionaires as they are able to sell their whole crop at the inflated prices, lucky!

This is Australia man, we are a huge tropical island, we should get bananas for free, how am I supposed to train properly with no bananas?
