How can I remove calcium and magnesium from my water???

First of all thank you for your quick answer..
I have read the WIKIPEDIA and it doesnt really help me..
I need to get rid of the Calcium and Magnesium not with HCl because the water are for fish..
so I need something else if you could find, chemical solution is good for me but not with acids..
If you could help me I will be a very happy man!

Ion exchange resins come to mind.

why dont you search for the properties of Ca and Mg, i think that will help you to get rid of this problem
