Quick Question : Is HOH or [H2O] equilvilant to H(OH)

Yes.
                                                                                     
Additionally, H3O+ can be written as H2OH+, for example.




Although that is a nonconventional way to write it, technically it is still correct.


I sometimes write water as OH2.

I don't want to offend anyone, but he/she got their answer, and it was his/her first time on the forum....I'm going to go out on a limb and say they probably won't come back

So here I ask, should someone who doesn't know this be grading assignments? :P

Hello. Yes; a think that write H2O it's the same thing that write HOH. We write it like that becouse that's the way we learned, but it could be a better way to write the formule of Water. Keep in think that H2O is an Oxigen atom with two Hydrogens (obvius :)); it could be represented by the way of HOH with the logic that Water is an Hydrogen with an Oxhydrile. The same thing happens with the Ethanol: we ussually write it like C2H5OH, but, as we know, it formula is CH3CH2OH. Well, that's all. I know that it isn't an important post, but, i wanna say something about it  :). By the way: i'm new in this forum, I'm form Argentina, and i really love Chemistry (and physics). Ok, I'm leaving, see you soon!
