The elements li and f combine to form an ionic compound. the electron config within this compound are the same as the electron configurations of atoms of Group 1,14,17,or 18

Here's some questions to guide you to the answer?  What happens when Li and F form an ionic bond (specifically, what happens to the electrons in each atom)? What are the electron configurations of Li and F before the reaction?  After the reaction?
