Difference between torsional strain and steric hinderance

Take butane as an example, can anyone know their difference?

My book says the anti-conformation of butane does not have torsional strain from steric hinderance.

Are they exactly the same?(i.e. they all means the resistance of rotation)

Steric hinderance is a more general term. Torsional strain, transannular strain etc. may contribute to steic hinderance.
