Hi fellas,
I encountered this problem where i had to detect the presence of ionic bonds in this sample (which i dont know what material its made of, but i do know it contains 2 different materials and i need to know if they form ionic bonds with each other).
I tried using TGA test to find out the denaturation temperature of the sample and also of the pure sample(with only 1 material alone) and found out that the denaturation temperature of the sample was slightly higher than the pure sample. However, i do not know whether this is cause by ionic interactions or covalent interactions or just Vander waals. I was wondering if anyone here happen to know of any experiments that can be carried out to detect ionic bonds?
Would potentiometry or conductometry be any useful? Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
