Oxy Acids
« on: February 03, 2007, 02:41:07 PM »
Yeah I have some hw questions asking to state the four oxy acids for Bromine, which I can do, but I"m just a little confused.

1. HBrO Hypobromous acid

2.HBrO2 Bromous acid

3.HBrO3 Bromic acid

4.HBrO4 Perbromic acid

Are my names for 1 and 2 correct, or did I leave out a letter or something. Also, do you not have to adjust Hydrogen, or Bromine for the extra Oxygen atoms, does the charge not change?

1. Right
2. Right
3. Right
4. Right

You don't need to adjust anything. It's fine as is.
