Potassium Nitrite

The following is hypothetical, but if one were to commence with a reaction that used Potassium Nitrite, or any other nitrite salt which evolved NO2 and involved keeping the salt ion, could the gaseous NO2 be redirected through a satured salt solution to reclaim the KNO2?
