Synthesis of 2-substituted benzo[d]thiazoles
« on: April 03, 2007, 04:35:46 AM »
I've been searching the net for this (or similar) reactions for days now and can't seem to find any ... I can't find any synthesis path for 2-substituted benzo[d]thiazoles even on the pay-per-view sites.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!!

You must be kidding. Benzothiazole syntheses are pretty common. There's and Organic Synthesis prep of the 2-amino derivative here or if you want the 2-substituent to be alkyl or aryl you can use the Herz reaction.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herz_reaction
