Products of the Aceti Acid + Sodium Hypochlorite reaction
« on: May 03, 2007, 07:57:06 PM »
I was curious about the products of mixing bleach and vinegar, commonly know for the thermite, iron (III) Oxide making process, as i understand it, it generates chlorine gas and the hydrogen form the acid forms water with the oxygen from the hypochlorite. so would the products of this reaction be water, sodium  hydroxide, chlorine gas, and some type of acetate containing compound ?
