I need some information about scavenging gear pump? what is the function of it? the system and how it works?

Which type are you thinking about? I imagine that a gear pump can be used for various types of scavenging. For example, scavenging oil from the bottom of a motor?, or scavenging rocks from the bottom of a drilling rig? I'm just curious as to your definition of scavenging...
