Which of the following is an INCORRECT interpretation of the balanced equation shown below?
2S(s) + 3O2(g) ----> 2SO3(g)
a.) 2 mol S + 3 mol O2 ----> 2 mol SO3
b.) 2 atoms S + 3 molecules O2 ----> 2 molecules SO3
c.) 2 g S + 3 g O2 ----> 2 g SO3
d.)none of the above
I'm pretty sure the answer is c?

How do moles relate to number of atoms/molecules? How do moles relate to grams?

well my thought was that the coefficients signify the number of moles, and not grams. For example, 2S is does not have a molar mass of 2, instead there are two moles present which would make me to believe that c is incorrect?

Yes, (c) is incorrect. You can think of the coefficients of the reaction representing either moles or number of molecules (since moles is a measure of the number of molecules).
