Does anyone know the simplest way to prepare 2-phenylethanol and where to find the description? Thank you

well i dont know about the easy part, but you can  start if you have all the nessecasy material

if you can make benzyl bromide, then react it with Mg/ether, then CO2/H3O, then just reduce the Carbonyl and you'll get your 2-phenylethanol and as for the reduction of the carbonyl you can use LiAlH4

Well reaction of Grignard reagent of phenyl bromide with ethylene oxide (epoxide) and further work-up will give you 2-phenylethanol directly.
ethylene oxide is a gas and can be generated in laboratory by adding 2-chloroethanol to NaOH flakes.
