Properties of Polystyrene and lacquer usage
« on: July 31, 2007, 10:41:43 AM »
The transparent polystyrene from diamong CD cases can be solved in nitro thinner 21, then the obtained lacquer dries quickly. What is weather and UV stability of PS? Is the PS lacquer appropriate for fixing cracked car lacquer over metallic paint, supposely acrylic one?

You may want to include UV stablizers  -  you get yellowing and brittleness of PS under prolonged UV.   If the car is an old banger, then I guess it wont matter  -  you could just touch up the lacquer when it gets cracked.  ?
Tonight I’m going to party like it’s on sale for $19.99!
