« on: September 14, 2007, 10:29:19 AM »
Sublimation of naphthalene was done by heating it in a porcelain evaporating disc, and then the crystal was checked the melting range on a melting block... and the result of the melting range was 93 - 112 (celsius)...We have to do the discussion and we can't figure out why the range went higher..because if it was impurities the range should have gone lower..So that the problem..so anyone can you'll please please answer this question...very desperate...:D thanx a bunch :)

Sometimes if you heat too quickly, your reading of the melting point can be too high.
