stripping analysis question
« on: September 18, 2007, 09:15:04 AM »
Why do you have to apply a deareation step before a stripping analysis on mercury film electrodes?

And, if you know, why this step is not necessary when you use bismuth film electrodes?

Why do you remove oxygen from solution in almost every polarographic/voltamperometric technique?

I think it's done to reduce the current associated with oxygen reduction... But if it is as i think, why BiFE protocols don't need deareation?
