First Ionization Energy Exceptions
« on: October 01, 2007, 02:21:15 AM »
Hey, whats the explanation for V, Co, and Ni not following the general pattern of first ionization energy?

I explain the B, O, Al, S, Ga, and Se exception with the different orbitals and electron distribution explanation. But I can't figure these ones out. Help.

Thanks.

Okay I really can't explain these exceptions but I've thought of that the difference in ionization energy is so small that its negligible. Would that be incorrect?

Thanks.
