How much heat is reauied to heat 25.0 g of CCl4(l) from 25.0°C to 76.8°C, its normal boiling point, and to convert it to CCl4(g) at 76.8°C?  The specific heat of liquid carbon tetrachloride is 0.857 g/mol•K, its heat of fusion is 3.27 kJ/mol, and its heat of vaporization is 29.82 kJ/mol.

I got 6.49 kJ as my answer.  Did anyone else get the same?

Your specific heat unit for carbon-tet makes no sense.

it didn't make sense to me either that's so I used 0.861 J/g degree C ..as my specific heat

That value is close to values a quick search turns up for (J/g · K).

When I work it that way, I get a value less then 6 kJ.

Show your intermediate math steps, assuming the units for the specific heat are J/g · K, as that is the correct value for such units.

well it's a lot to type out....i finally figured the way to use the g/mol*K that was given .
my other answer was 5.96 kJ with this specific heat.... is this what you got also?
