Is there a common name for (most or all of) these:


Nucleotides
Betaglucan
Betain
Alginate
Lysine
Methionine

Let me try to rephrase the question:

Does these "things" belong under something else? I believe Lysine and methionine are enzymes for example, but are all of these enzymes or can you group them under something else?

Lysine and methionine are amino acids (components of enzymes). 
B-glucan and Alginate are polysaccharides.

I guess (with the exception of nucleotides) one could refer to this collection of chemical components as "Amino acids and polysaccharides".


...or would I be wrong if I just refered to all of these as "chemical compunds"?

Yes, they're all chemical compounds (though I have never heard of 'betain')

They are all biologically important chemical compounds I think.

Alginate being biologically important in algae, the others important in humans.
