Acids/bases questions...please answer!!
« on: December 02, 2007, 10:36:43 PM »
Hey guys,
I got a couple chem questions...can someone be sooo kind to give me answers with steps.. I am really in need of answers with steps.

1. Calculate the pOH of a dilute solution of hydrobromic acid if the intial solution has a pH of 2.40 and 34ml of this concentrated acid is diluted to a final volume of 2.56L

2. Predict the products and indicate if reactants or products are favoured when sodium dihydrogen phosphate (NaH2PO4) reacts with potassium hydrogen sulfite (KHSO3)

3. Predict the products and indicate if reactants or products are favoured when calcium hydroxide is added to phosphoric acid.

I am sure these would be a piece if cake for some people.

I would be greatly thankful to all for this.

Thanks in advance

The problem is practically unsolvable since k2 of H2SO3 and H3PO4 are practically the same - reaction do not take place
