Does anyone know why that on a hot summer’s day at the beach ,the sand is hotter than the water?

Water has the larger, or more correct: - the largest!

What he said means that it takes much more energy to heat up water, than it does sand. So the sun beating down on the sand quickly heats it up, while the water takes much more energy and only heats up slightly.
