What agent we use to colorate and de-colorate DNA when electrophoresis?

Way out of my area of expertise.  However, I do support DNAPac columns and it is my understanding Aldrich carries decolant agents for electrophoresis:

You may want to get this from someone who does DNA.....and uses electrophoresis

Ethidium bromide is a common stain for visualizing double stranded DNA in electrophoresis applications.  Destaining is accomplished by dilution, lots and lots of it.  What is your particular application?
