Is this the correct way of how oxygen bonds to make an O2 molecule?

Yes that's correct. It's a double covalent bond because oxygen has 6 outer shell electrons, which I assume you know based on your diagram.  It needs 2 more to complete the octet, so it shares them with the other oxygen, which needs the same amount.
