beta-D-fructopyranose Haworth projection
« on: February 06, 2008, 12:05:15 AM »
Hi. I have no problem converting D-glucose to the Haworth projection of beta-D-glucopyranose.  But I'm having trouble comverting D-fructose to the Haworth projection of beta-D-fructopyranose. The C=O bond of the ketohextose is throwing me off.  Do I have the correct Fischer projection for D-fructose?  Which carbons are which in the Haworth projection?

For fructofuranose use carbon atoms C2 and C6
