acetylation/deacetylation
« on: March 09, 2008, 03:25:28 PM »
Hi folks,

i wanna  test acetylation of a peptide (lysines) and therefore i'll use
acetic anhydride / glacial acetic acid..
my question:

does anyone of you know under which conditions ( or chemical reagents) deacetylation occurs ?

thx !

Hey diablo

Click on the link i have posted below and scroll down. Here you will find an acetyl group as a protective group for amines and you will find a variety of conditions where it is, stable, moderately stable and labile, respectively.

http://www.organic-chemistry.org/protectivegroups/amino.shtm

Hopes this is of help to you.
