Equilibrium Constants from StatMech

What's up!  I'm considering a PChem lab project for next semester.  What I want to do is calculate an ideal gas reaction equilibrium constant from spectroscopic data and StatMech and compare it to an experimentally observed value.  Does anybody know of any gas phase reactions that are reasonable to carry out at low pressure?

I don't know what kind of equipment you have available but you may find some interesting reactions that occur in a plasma at low pressure. For instance, one reaction used extremely frequently on a daily basis is reacting silane with nitrous oxide to grow SiO2 on semiconductors. That would be a really fun to do and I'm positive that there is a ton of supporting literature for you look at. Plus you get to play with cool equipment and plasmas.  I really miss my job making lasers at times. Cheers
