I need some help making a Galvanic Cell:

My high-school class is assigned to make a galvanic cell, but the catch is that we have to use household materials.

I know you have to use a substance with free-flowing ions, like these diagrams:

What is the best liquid substance to use, and which metal should I use to be successful?

I don't really know what you mean by free-flowing ions, but one of your links has all info you need.  Pretty much any two dissimilar metals will induce a current.  Can you find a pair of dissimilar metals lying around the house?
