Chromatography Question
« on: April 08, 2008, 08:01:40 AM »
Just a simple one im not sure on...

Can using just a chromatography column, a HPLC column or a GC column and its instruments can u determine a quantitative measurement of the sample? Or are you required to run samples and measured peak heights of these samples and construct a calibration curve to determine any quantitative measurements?

Basically, quantitative analysis means a standard curve of some type was prepared, and run, at some point to calibrate the instrument.  If you want a humorous perspective, you can see my old post here:

Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.
