Is my textbook right?
« on: April 09, 2008, 09:24:16 AM »
My school textbook shows the following diagram and states that the molecule is called 2-methylpropan-1-ol. I was wondering why it is not 2-methylpropan-2-ol since the alcohol group is attached to the second carbon.

Regards,
Andy
