reaction of ethylbenzene

I need to draw the structure of this reaction--

Ethylbenzene + Br2 / CCl4


i suspect there is no reaction....am I right?

I think your right that there is no rxn. b/c benzenes don't react with Br2 via addition. They react via substitution and you don't have a lewis acid catalyst.

Br2 is not going to treat benzene's pi bonds like any old alkene pi bond.  Br2 alone will not interrupt aromaticity in benzene.

I believe you are correct as well.
