So I have to do analysis of wine for an advanced higher report and ive found out the concentration of Iodine which i needed to titrate with my SO2 but I cant seem to find (anywhere!) an equation relating to this titration. My chemistry teacher hasn't been able to suggest what's happening so I'm left stumped with volumes of Iodine but no way to convert these to a relevant value.
Does anyone know an equation relating to this titration?
My other question is:
why does this reaction require Sulphuric acid? does this take part in the reaction or is it simply required to acidify the solution before titration.
Despite these two problems I have read and understand everything here but I'm still left wondering...
