Drawing structures for organic compounds
« on: April 20, 2008, 09:45:53 PM »
I'm only in a general chem course at the moment, but we're covering an introduction to organic chemistry.  Determining names based off structures and drawing structure based off names is one of the topics we're covering.  If anyone would be interested in posting a few moderately simple organic compound names and a couple organic chemical structures, allowing me to draw/name them, then checking my results, it would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Nick

You can download a trial (free) copy of ChemBioDraw and use the Convert Name to Structure and Convert Structure to Name functions (Structure menu) to test yourself to your heart's content.

Thanks ng.  This was actually for a test in gen chem I had about 2 months ago, but I'm plodding through my organic textbook for next year to get a head start, so that link will still be used^^
