The equation was
H2 + S + O2 ----> 2H+ + SO4 (charge 2-)
I said it is correctly balanced charge and atoms and she said that the charge isn't balanced!
But dont the 2 prtons and -2 charge cause an equal charge of zero?

You are right - charge is balanced. Oxygen is not.
Not that this equation makes any sense - hydrogen won't react with sulfur and oxygen to create dissociated sulfuric acid. No way.
