How to produce heat....

Hi there.

I am just wondering which two chemicals (that can be contained) can react together to produce a fairly strong heat?

Any help would be much appreciated

Pretty much any acid/base combo would work. When you react an acid with a base you get salt, water and heat. You can even notice heat when mixing baking soda and vinegar

Please be careful though!  Some mixtures can produce a lot of heat, and it can be dangerous to touch.

Can you tell us what you need a large amount of heat for, and maybe someone can suggest a safe way to go about what you are attempting.
