does a free amine have an unshared electron pair on the amine nitrogen? i said it did
does an amide contain a carbon nitrogen double bond? i said it did

hmm...free amines?....do you mean a molecule of Ammonia ?
NH3
1) Ammonia has a free electron pair
2) An amide doesn't have a carbon-nitrogen double bond
