I just typed "Razor Blade Composition" into google. I was quite surprised ti find that there were quite a few hits suggesting different compositions and manufacturing techniques. Give it a try. You could also try typing "Razor Blade Manufacture" ... infact here you go - first hit with that one:
http://www.madehow.com/Volume-5/Safety-Razor.html gives a history of razor blade useage (from stone age) to modern... gives example of composition of the metal as well as manufacturing procedure.
QUOTE FROM LINK: "One patented combination of elements used in stainless steel blade construction includes carbon (0.45-0.55%), silicon (0.4-1%); manganese (0.5-1.0%); chromium (12-14%) and molybdenum (1.0-1.6%); with the remainder being iron."
Hope that helps!
