Simple question about acidity constant?

Hello everyone,

Why is that in acidity constants we add water and find Ka value. Isn't any acid aqeuous. So what is the point of adding water to an aqueous substance?

not everything comes prepackaged in water.  We must make the substance and aqueous solution in order to measure acidity.
