Hello,
This is my first post here. Recently I got used IBC tank (made from plastic) from road construction site. In it was product for hydro isolation of tunnels and roads Sikalastic 821. On the bottom of the tank was maybe 10 to 15 liters of this product. I emptied it and cleaned it thoroughly with water and detergent. Now the tank is clean but the smell remains. On the net I found that this product contains 10 to 20 % of hazardous chemical 2,6-Diamino-3,5-diethyltoluol. My question is how dangerous is this substance to begin with. I am planning to use this tank as rainwater tank for watering the garden and similar things, not for drinking. After I cleaned the tank is it possible that some remains of this substance are still in plastic from which the container is made of. If this substance enters the soil, how dangerous can it be and how long it stays in the soil.
Thanks
